The Links Panel in UpVoter

What is the links panel?

The links panel serves to centralize all URLs related to your session in a single spot. Without needing to jump back to the Dashboard or hunt through other menus, you have at-a-glance access to the six links UpVoter generates for every session.

Access: side menu of the management panel → Links section.

Each link features:

  • The full visible URL.

  • A copy to clipboard button with an active visual confirmation.

  • An open in new tab button.

  • The six links

    Access QR Code

Opens the high-resolution image of the session's access QR code. This is the ideal option to project on the big screen at the start of your event or to print on physical posters.

It allows participants to join the session by scanning the QR code directly from their mobile devices.

    Voting (Participants)

The primary link you share with your audience so they can vote from their mobile phones.

Use it on open access sessions (where no invitation is strictly required). If the session requires an invitation, every participant is issued their own personal token-backed link — this generic one will deny them access.

Ways to share it: Email, WhatsApp, your event's chat, or projecting the QR code directly on screen.

    Projection

Opens the big screen layout to project all results in real time. Keep it open on your TV, standard projector, or second monitor throughout your entire event.

It does not require authentication. Anyone with the URL can open it, but since the session ID is completely hidden by default, it doesn't pose any security risks to distribute it internally among crew members.

    View Results (Mobile)

Allows participants to freely view the global unified results for all the questions directly on their devices, freely navigating between them. It does not permit voting under any circumstances.

It's the perfect choice to distribute at the end of your event to serve as a results summary. Participants can consult these results even long after the session has been closed.

    Q&A Projection

Opens the projection explicitly locked into Q&A mode: it displays the queue of questions successfully approved by the moderator rather than showing voting poll results. It is the best choice for the big screen during the audience Q&A block.

For this link to serve any purpose, the Q&A module must first be activated within your session settings.

    Moderator View

Opens the dedicated Q&A moderation interface, which is heavily optimized for an iPad or tablet placed on the presidency podium. It allows an assigned staff member to approve, hide, withdraw, and edit audience questions without needing access to the master management panel at all.

    > Share this link strictly with the individual tasked with moderating. Security relies entirely on the fact that the session ID is impossible to guess.

For deeper information, refer to the Moderator View manual.

    Recommended workflow for an event

    Before the event

  • Open Projection on the big screen.

  • Copy Voting and distribute it sequentially to the attendees.

  • If you integrate Q&A: copy Moderator View and forward it to whoever will moderate incoming questions.
  • During the event

  • Once you open the Q&A round: bring up the Q&A Projection on your big screen (or just use the toggle shortcut button within the unified projection layout).
  • After the event

  • Supply the View Results link to your participants so they may review all global metrics comfortably via their mobile phones.

  • Differences with Dashboard Quick Buttons

The Dashboard also highlights some quick access shortcut buttons pointing to these links directly on each session card. The difference:

    | | Dashboard | Links Panel |
    |---|---|---|
    | No. of links | 3 (Voting, Projection, Q&A Display) | 6 (Entire suite) |
    | Includes Moderator View | No | Yes |
    | Includes View Results | No | Yes |
    | When to use it | Fast management between sessions | When you are already intimately working inside the session |

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I modify the session URL?
No. The session ID is intrinsically auto-generated exactly when the session is created and remains immutable.

What happens if I inadvertently share the Projection link with participants?
They'll be completely able to watch the real-time outcome but they won't be able to cast a vote — the projection is purely read-only. It is functionally harmless, but always provide them with the proper Voting link instead.

Does the Voting link ever expire?
The generic link itself does not expire. What might eventually expire is an individual token invitation if you've surpassed your configured time-frames on private events.

Can I run the Projection and the Q&A Projection tabs simultaneously?
Yes, across different tabs or disparate devices entirely. They are completely independent windows tied to the same session hub. You can render the voting numbers on one display panel while cycling audience questions on another, with both updating smoothly in real time.

Are the links accessible without internet?
No. UpVoter exclusively requires an active internet connection for both the organizer host and the connected participants alike.
